After to what to be yet another challenging day at work, I was ready for escape. Sometimes work is an escape, but Friday's test was of communication and Resolving issues in a common courtesy matter. Well, after being off for 6 days of not being called in, I was excited,focused, and ready to be at work. Well 8:00 am was quite early than the usual time, but, hey, I was there. It was like being away from family. Although a busy day of charter flights, I got off early.
My co worker drove me home(she has been this past month because of my car being in repair,hopefully another blog someday ) so because I was mentioning about going to Three's Bar and Grill http://www.threescateringmaui.com/ which I have never been to , to see INNAVISIONS http://www.innavisionmusic.com/ . Because she lives in Kihei and says she will go tonight and I can come back to Kihei with here and stay over her place too. I was convinced!
I HAD SO MUCH FUN DANCING! As you can see the pics are a bit blurry either because of me moving or them , It was a fiery evening for me. I enjoy live music. These guys do a great show. I Have seen them before as opening acts for high name groups. Maui Boys REPRESENT! The new music with a blend of the old. I was singing to every song..
They have a few line ups here and Maui (Casanovas on June 10, my old hood hee hee) than they hit the mainland for UPLIFTMENT TOUR T GO SEE THEM!!! I know they were playing especially for me, I could feel the music through my body as i released all negative energy to just be in bliss with their music,appearance and presence.
I will mention ,BY THE WAY, I had a few Sailor Jerry rum shots and remember passing my business card to the couple lead singers of the band. They both remembered me from previous show. I am usually dancing in from that's why.
It was a fun escape.

My First Ulalena Maui Experience

My experience was held as a Tweetup at the Ulalena Maui in
Lahaina. I was invited through twitter and if you bought a local made dish for pu pu's you could see the show for free.I took advantage because I haven't seen this amazing show at all. It has been playing a while now. I was very excited too, to meet other Maui tweeters. It was the biggest tweet up yet.

I am glad to have made new friends in real life and to re unite with others that I had previously met through twitter.I hope to meet all my Maui followers/following .
The food was good. The theme was to bring a local made dish,so I contributed baked purple potatoes. I tried a bite of just about every dish As the show began ,I am excited,just to be in a wonderful theater atmosphere. I was impressed with it all! The live drumming,the songs, the interpretation,the costumes,the special effect curtains,the acrobats ,the stilts. I liked how the background changes from being in the mountains/rain forest , to looking up at the night sky, and the feeling of really being under water with the swimming fish And the drummers were just incredible. After the show, we got to stay for an question and answer segment and I liked learning about the backstage production part. I want to say that social Lia who I meet at a previous tweetup was one of the main performers,she has such a great voice! The whole cast was in its element. AUTHENTIC,ENERGETIC,HEARTFELT
Thanks to those on twitter that took a chance to meet me and see who I am and enjoyed the show as much as me!

Sunday Maui Tweet Up

Aloha,this morning I attended a Maui Tweet Up. We gathered at Whole Food Maui located at the Maui Mall. I was a bit late, but was very pleased to finally meet some new tweeters,but yet felt like meeting old friends. Mahalo to Dania Katz for organizing and Joel Katz for the lovely music. I had an omelet and fresh squeezed O.J. and was very surprised at the action going on inside . I guess I hadn't gone there on a Sunday. I am so glad to have had breakfast with the Maui peeps, and a couple that was visiting from the Big Island, even if they were face bookah's! LOL

House Of Roots Night Out

A couple days a go, I was on FB and notice this page, House Of Roots really promoting this up coming show at Mulligans On The Blue in Wailea . So I liked it. Than a day goes by,and I notice that they are doing online contest to win free tickets. I was on it, I answered correctly and won a free ticket! SUPER STOKED! I like when I can see live music for free! Suber Dub Tribe, Teoman, and Bambu Station. Because I agree to take a few pictures of the show,this House Of Roots dude gives me 2 more tickets! WAY COOL!. Now the ladies I do end up going with, I have only known for about a month. One lived here for 3 yrs, the other 1 yrs. So they love me as a local girl to go out to a club and have a good time to see live music for free.
I have seen Teoman before, but never Suber Dub or Bambu Station, who is from the Virgin Islands. Of course no night would be complete without the club drama, we get to the door and the lady says only 1 comp ticket, so I txt My new House Of Roots Dude friend and inform him. we wait. but only for 5 minutes, the 3 of us were in!Mulligans was packed. OMG and the same waitress recognized me from Tuesday tin can comedy night and she knows what I want to drink. Black Russian.
I danced away all of the days stress, but, my 2 GF's are totally picking up young dudes, I say that cause it is mostly a young crowd. Than we find out that they are from California and is here for a wedding. I just danced and took pics and enjoyed the music ! What a fun night out. Can't wait til the next music event with live music. ALOHA FROM MAUI

Aloha,As time moves on and I am still in pursuit of employment,I get swayed to want to be social and be leisure with my friends. It does help me to regain my focus. last week I went to Tavares Bay with Jane. We swam on such a lovely Maui afternoon. Than on Friday, I met up with some old high school classmates and our drama teacher, the one and only Miss Sue Loudon. Me, Julie, Sundree, Jett, Micheal, and Jerry had a fun time just reminiscing and laughing. Oh Julie's twin boys and little girl kept us on our toes. On Saturday I went to Kahului Hongwanji's garage sale. I tried to go to the beach on Sunday and I did make it to Sprecklesville but ended up staying for only a short time. So today, I have been home most of the day, been organizing a lot of paperwork and cleaning. and I actually got a call back thu an employer thu the internet. (I had to stop this typing for a moment). I have an interview tomorrow and I am excited.I added the pic of me and my classmates, and I wanted to share this pic of Emmitt Smith who I met this spring at The Grand Wailea. I am not in photo, but as I was taking pic, he was staring right at me!I did get to get a big hug from him(yummy) I actually float every time i see this Photo

Getting a phone call from Robert (my son's dad) make me flare up with all kinds of mixed feelings. 1. i haven't talked to him since .......
2. he asks about Javan. Apparently the UFC fight yesterday was held in L A and they dedicated it to the marines and Robert thought Javan went to it. (they use to watch UFC all the time together when Javan was here) but i told him That Javan is in 29 palms which is a training place and that is where Javan is. he will be there til the 29th. than he will come home in Dec. See, Robert doesn't know any of this, he last spoke to Javan about a month ago.
My communication with Robert is very hard. There is so much that can be conversed about but he shuts me out completely. this is why when he call, it trips me out. I HAVE NO CONTACT NUMBER FOR HIM. IF I HAD TO ABSOLUTELY GO TO WHERE HE LIVES, I WOULD BE YELLED AT BY HIS OTHER HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS. but Robert would talk to me at another location. Robert will steer away from anything i would ask about how he is or what he is doing. last i know, he got laid off from wal mart this year.
I guess for me it is a lot to intake when i communicate with Robert. I have for given . and yes i am a person of compassion, but there was a time when i lived for was Robert, Javan, and me,
Now well as we are all adults, I do encourage Javan to keep communication with his dad. I cannot force it. and Javan can make up his own decisions about his own way of accepting his dad.
Robert is a compassionate person and for him to call me It must have been weird but it is always weird for me too.
Our son is what we have in common. And i never took Javan or made Javan or bad mouth to Javan about his dad. Javan is lucky he has two people that care for him that we will keep amicable for him. I believe that Robert will know me best til the day i die! even if i change or be with another , he will know me.
I also know that my son Javan knows me best! he knows all i do is for him. even as the new stage of him being a young adult, okay MAN, we are learning about each other. Deep down tho i am always the mom, which i have to still be, in a whole new way!

again on unemployment(at this rate i tease myself that i work for the state cause of all the things you have to do to maintain the UI requirements and still hard to find job,)
my son is still training( he went to this place called Bridgepor,CA. i hope to hear from him in the next week. we last spoke the first week of July. )
My son is 20!( I am in awe myself. it has been the 2nd birthday that i didn't celebrate with him. i have to let go as a mom to realize i have a young man now, he's 20, don't lay on the doting to hard anymore. i just want to give him a hug and say i love you to him in person. he is a very good kid from the start. i always get that told to me about him. i am a very proud mom. but 20!!! wow!!!!)
music is my sanity.(okay i went to the maui massive concert,KATCHAFIRE,OOKALH,ANUHEA, NATURAL VIBES,MAOLII, i had such a blast!many mahalos to Shaggy of Q103. man the guy hooked us up big time!! Although my GF Cindy got sick and didn't go, i was able to use the tickets for other friends. aND i meet some of my twitter friends IRL at the concert. Kamanu from Oahu, Fasha from kihei, But i had meet BK,bkgirlfriday, from oahu last year and she was there too! I gave here and Shaggy these little goodluck kittys. you know the japanese ones with the paw. i just was showing them my appreciation cause i do go to Shaggy's on line show and BK does do things to promote him. anyway, it was a wonderful time. OHHH at the end, there was Shaggy, hugging everyone!!! He gave me a kiss and hugg and i am in love with the dude!very respectable person! so i continue to listen to shaggylive and try to keep up with the guy , but hes a busy dude,,,all for the good reason,,too! Oh and at the concert, i meet Anuhea jenkins, anuheajams, she is a powerful women in her stage presence. shes awesome. and my friend lopaka bought me beer the whole night,. it was only coors light but it was fun do just be out having fun. i snuck in my shots of maui rum. so u see i love concerts.if you look back at my old posts, i have other concert memories.)
doing it cause i just felt like i had too(yes i did my standing on the highway with my donation sign again. many maui angels watch over me. at the end the 200.00 was put toward re registering my vehicle. boy was that a great help.)

Today july 31 ( i have a friend birthday is today. i never knew anyone with that birthdate before. Happy Birthday Radical Randy! he has helped me in my trials and tribulation a few years back, he is a long time friend.He was in a n incident where he got shot in the elbow,and grazed at the inner thigh. man i was suppose to got to that BBQ that night it all happened a couple years ago. Randy has moved off of maui to texas since this happen and i haven't seen him. WOW ! he is in my thoughts today!)
yesterday( i went to flat rocks. it has been some time since i went there cause i thought the road was to rocky for my car. and it made it just fine. hiking down the 5 minute trail brought back MANY memories. lots of yellow ginger!!! the pond was fine and laying out in the sun was fine.i seen 6 people today. i was there for about 3 hrs.it was a very healing kind of feeling. i did bring home some ginger and ti leaves with me .

Tonight ,there was an earthquake here on maui. The day for me has been pretty good. I stayed home. I was planning to go to the Paia Bash but realize with only 8 bucks cash. and only 62 in the bank, i know i can't walk out my door for any leisure reason. I was kinda bummed cause i wanted to meet this girl from twitter who was gonna go too.(Fasha). Well, i made grilled chicken on my George Foreman grill that i got a garage sale a few weeks ago. I like that machine. I even did my zucchini on it too.very juicy. All i know is that i was sitting at my computer and i just felt this huge jolt. i knew right away it was an earthquake. it rattled a few seconds which felt like minutes. my house i call a cabin cause it has no drywall in it. i like my wood wall and wood floors. and only 700 sq ft. This may sound wild , but i am all natural and in my birthday outfit, and i was running around my house to put on some clothes cause i wanted to go outside. LOL, i put on a sarong.(usually i have one on, but tonite i didn't) I went out on my deck(with the sarong on) and just stared out into the sky. i was waiting for an aftershock. i stayed out there a few minutes, than i tweeted it on twitter. WOW. yay it is amazing that twitter!

back in the mid 80's (86/or 87) i was in Pasadena and was awaken by an earthquake. it was very strong. i was staying with high school friends who attended college. i was so jittery! but i learned to get in the doorway. I had to work that night(i worked in marina Del Ray) and people at work said they weren't phased by it, it happens a lot. Well i never experience a lot of them so i just didn't know how to react. luckily, i had my ticket to come home to maui. it was just a waiting game from then on. I was happy to be back home.<<<<<<WOW> i must say i felt jittery this time too. . on edge. uncertain. darn it is hard to have these feelings because i am usually so much in control of ME> but hey i can't control mother maui moving like she did. and i wonder why such activities. dormant for ages and now sudden movement. makes ya wonder.??
I know the Big island is alive and growing and the people there know they live on an island with an active volcano. Here on maui...makes ya wonder
AND, this week i lost everything on this computer.pictures,files, music, oh well. i am not that attached. but i will be more aware of what is coming on to it now!

!! I have a second job! It is a place called Spice and Rice. it is located in Haiku. I work on Tuesday and Friday nights.It is Indian and Burmese Authentic Cuisine . I haven't work night in many years let a lone being a server/waitress. i am really good at hostess . I have know this family for a very long time. It has been easy to know the people around me. and they know me too. i have always been a good employee. as i worked for the wife in her business called Rainbow Jo.
@@. I missed a call from my son today.!! it has been two weeks since we spoke.

Aloha, yesterday I went to Big Beach, Makena. I usually go 2nd entrance and than to the left.It is usually filled with skim boarders. OH man it was so nice out. Even through the vog. I swam about 3 times and the waves were so flat, which for Makena is nice cause you know how they can suck you in on those bigger shore breaks. Than I went to the shower on to the side of the Prince Hotel. It was just really nice for me to be there.
But get this as I am about to exit Wailea looking at all that new condos, I decide to go the THE SHOPS OF WAILEA It just called me. I only go to 3 stores there (well whalers general if I have to),the Enchantress, Fifi and Bootzie (same owners. remember then from Paia town for many years) and Blue Ginger. I rarely go to this mall.
It was a good day to be out and about.

wonder moments of the night

Aloha! i wonder sometimes........ i have had a headache at the end of work and i have been drinking water and even ate a hearty meal, took a hot/cold shower and just as i was ready to relax, my right side inside of my eyebrow just pounds. i try not to think of it. it its better and i am ready to rest my head. doing pressure point holding does help. i have very healing hands and it did do the trick. also i incorporated using a clear quartz crystal to add pressure to the spot. it did help. any thing to avoid asprin or advil i guess for this once. off to dreamland !

aloha, i finally put up my kinda year in review post of 2008. if you need to know more details jus let me know which part.
Today i have a lot of antisipation for my son to come home tomorrow. Yes he has been in and out of the US since july .and what a job he has. I am so proud of him being a US MARINE!(nearly 2yrs now)I have to remember that he is a grown person. In my mind i still have that thought of him being my little guy, and i feel like doteing over his every need. BUT I am the one who needs help. I still haven't got my car fixed,although this is payday week for me so i may jus do it.see how i always think i have to do it myself, but this time i will feel more inclined to ask my son for assistance. Praise to him cause he did help me with the cell phone. he he i am on HIS family plan.(my nextel account is in collections, in my mind on hold and away forever)Also i will have to ask him to help me get food. I know sounds wierd, but he is use to eating 3 meals a day. Don't get me wrong, i will cook for him, i jus need the ingredients to make stuff. I am sure he will want my chopped steak dinner or even my awesome scalloped potatoes. or homemade musubis nmade with tofu instead of spam. see i have always cooke for him. so we'll see. But believe me it won't hurt to go out and eat jus for the break of it or even jus for change. And here's another thing, do i tell him the whole "you are in my house so respect my rules" i think so. why should have that change. it jus seam for me to let go a few things are good but yet i wanna pull the strings. I can't help it i have always been the head of our household.And i have a very dominating mom way of being,. AHH must let go.I guess this is why my son is independent the way he is. I have always said to him "if it's not me that is getting things done than it is him, cause we are the only ones doing it for each other" yes this is the bond i have for my one and only son. i love him always!
so i put a rug down in his room, and i have a roll away bed and folding futon for choice of him to sleep. and he can jus enjoy being HOME! i don't have living room funiture so i will put up a little table with patio chairs around it to have that "let's eat together as a family "feeling. also no TV which will be very interesting. internet is the new age of things i guess(unless he helpsme pay my past due cable bill and get a re hook up)otherwise i am reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy excited for the new experience of my MAN coming home!

Aloha,WOW What a year that 08 was!. Well if i can only list it than here goes:
!. Javan decides to come home only for 3 night in Feb,because his friends dad passes away! It was a very fast trip but my son was very determined to come and pay his respect to papa Mc Gregor. I was really excited although when he left,I was so unhappy. I was just getting used to having his energy around me. And than he was gone!. But he has a job to do and I was even lucky to see him. I am so sorry to James who lost his dad! James is Javan's cowboy/classmate buddie!
@.Im march I went to Shaggy's birthday party . Me and Kathy ventured out to Lahaina to Hrd Rock Cafe. When I seen Him,he was with Maui Mulisha(Jon). And they were both very cordial to us. I admit i have a crush on Shaggy and I think he kinda know it. The night was super fun,it was like the 3rd time i meet him besides seeing his internet show'shaggylive'. Very different in a bar scene! This also when i got laid off from a part time job.(maui mountain cruisers) it lasted a month.
#. April, I went to The Hana Taro Festival! It has been so , long since I even went to Hana. I had a blast! I went with Penny and her son Skyler! Hana is jus really kick back style. All I did was enjoy good music(I remember the band Ai Pohaku from Big Island) and I ate taro mochi! yummy! The Hawaiian entertainment was jus awesome. We didn't stay and we drove back right after sunset.Oh yeah, as we cruised by Hana Bay berfore we came back, this guy goes Jamie, and I think to myself ,who knows ME in Hana? It turned out to be Joe T. And we knew each other in high school. small island moment.It was another good time on this beautiful island!
$. In the beginning of May , I went to a wedding on Molokai. I stayed 2 day and 3 nights. The wedding was Cindy and Shane! Cindy is a Molokai homegrown and the wedding was on the property where she grew up.,On'e Ali'i Fishponds. It is so beautiful there. I loved visiting Halawa Valley. Even if I got wheezzy coming back in the car , I didn't get sick but jus need ed out of a moving vehicle. i was glad to rest back at my room(at the Molokai Shores). I met some funny and interesting people.
% June Javan came home to visit. he is a JOY to have here. I was not working so lotsa time spent with each other. .Than the week before he leaves i get a job. Although that was very short lived(the job that is). I had to wait to file for UI benifits.
^ July My son turned 19 in Okinawa!
&. Aug still job searching and getting desperate.
* Sept.Well I was so desperate, this is what i did to humblize and redeam myself.>>TRU STORY
I woke up on the first monday of sept spring out of bed thinking to myself. Shoots if the vegerance can do it so can I. I got up and decided to make a cardboard sign that says DONATIONS WANTED FOR BILLS,GAS,FOOD. with a smiley face on it and i went to the intersection of Puunene and Daiery road(kitty corner to the kings catheral church. It was 8:20 am, and the sun was hot, and i just stood with my sign. it was very interesting. cause it is a busy intersection. And i just stand and watch the traffic and the road. Than the first car that stops, A MAUI ELECTRIC TRUCK with 2 workers in there. and they say"eh sistah you get the hardest job today" and they hand me some cash. wow! I tripped out cause i needed money so bad to pay for my electric!.Thana nother guy stops and walks up to me and gives me a hat. I am crying by this . I continue to stand till about1130am. than i go to make a payment on my electric. So i decide to stand in a spot in Spreklesville and it was not good. But by now it is like almost 4pm so i decide to go to kahukui. Right in front of the 24hr fitness on hana hwy. and i just stand. ONG the people just kept stopping. i had very many maui angels that day. wow I got home arounf 7pm and i made 220 dollars and i was so sunburn and dirty. i am so thankful for my house.
than on Thursday i try it again so i got to Alamaha Street near the minute stop, right under the shady trees. and i stood there. It was different but again i was blessed. that day was 80.00 and again i knew i could bay some bills and keep the phone on. After my 2 stints i did apporch Pastor dale from Pukalani Nazeren Church(that is where my son goes) and asked for donation. He was very kind and the church donated to me and i have gone to fellowship which i do like.Also he turned me on to the feed my sheep program. still no work though.
( Oct. was another struggle cause i had to wait til nov to be eleigable to apply for UI benifits .I went to the beach alot and was mindless on the internet. but i still kept my sanity.

There has been a lot of movement and changes going on! Yes it happenened, I got a JOB! It is in retail, i am a sales associate. I work at this store called Goodies. it is in Makawao town. It has nice high end guality goodies. it has been in Makawao town for nearly 25 yrs. It is the store with all the chimes in front of it. They also sell Simply Silk clothing and Jams world too. So far I am having fun in there.
Oh I went to see this band, The Alliez at Charleys a couple weeks ago. it was really fun! I like to see live music. And on Dec 21, i went to the beach for nearly 6 hours. I went to baldwin Beach. I swam and jus layed out and enjoyed the beauty of Maui.
I did get a couple phone calls from my son. I miss him a lot. He is getting ready to leave Okinawa. He has let me know about his time when he'll be home! WOOT WOOT! jan 27th yay yay yay! I am so excited that he is learning so much in this big world. And that he like the adreninlene of it all.
I was kinda recluse for this holiday.
Although, i did go to Hope Chapel for dinner on Thursday. it was fine.
i am now blank!

I have made friends with my sons buddies through myspace and mostly facebook! and they posted pictures of him! OMG i have felt so giddy and just so thrilled to see him! plus my tears are filled with so much love for him. he actually asked them to take pics of him and post jus for me. Even if he has his own computer, he jus doesn't do it. But i know it is alot for him with his work but ya know I am the MOM ! But i am so encouraging him to get with it. it really is email and internet these days.(since he hasn't even wrote me one letter or postcard since being in asia! and i send him usually 2 letters a week .) okay a small rant.
I am seeing what he is doing as a Marine. I have always ever wanted to know everything about what my son is doing. But, i am slowly trying to let go and know he makes his decsions. Ohh his fellow brothers are awesome and i hope to meet them. I am very proud of all of these young men. and they have a lot of courage!
this is the first holiday season that we will be apart. yes it is new begginings for both of us. and i am glad to express myself here about this situation.
I am a new military mom and there is definatly a lot of learning.

Aloha, things have been so tight for me that i will be lucky to send a box to him through the mail. But what to put in side?
when he was younger(from birth til about 9 yrs old) he got it all. and i remember my sons dad (who insisted on assembling his first bike and he is not at all that much of a mechanical person) and i stayed up till 3 am to figure this bike out for him in the morning .i think he was like 3 going on 4. oh and i remeber that it would take HOURS to open the presents.and it was usually jus my sons dad , me and my son. than later my sis would come with her daughter and the kids would play everything all at once! having abundance in toys and games and goodies are always fun. throughout the years i have donated these same items to others(usually Women Helping Women) and i would save only the real special ones. And i would have my son go through the proscess with me about what to keep and what to give. he knew what he REALLY liked.(game gear,power rangers, batman,big wheel,vi tech computer, and sometimes just the funniest little stuff. But 19 yrs later, i think i have the special x mas ornimant, pictures and lots a tears in remembering how our christmas together were so filled with it all. NOW> it is me here and my son is in asia and i have finally got in the mood to even bring out the decorations.(the dad never calls me, although when and if he does, we are usually civil to each other. did i mention that the dad lives about 5 miles from me with no communication at all). OH yeah, usually since 2 yrs till about teenager , he would always get a cold during this time.

On saturday night I went to see C and K at the maui Arts and Cultural Center.It was a complementary ticket to me. I answered an ad for this guy who had an extra ticket. So we contacted each other and set it up. It turned out he lived near me so we went together. He is a nice dude. Originally from Hana. I felt comfortable. Plus we knew a lot of the same things growing up on Maui around the same time. I sat in the balcony right. I have never sat in this section before. They were really good seats ! So that is the 1st picture is my view. OMG!!! i loved the whole show! Man that Henry Kapono is fine as ever! I always did have a crush on him. The whole band was good! lotsa energy. I sang to nearly every song. Come on if you were growing up in the seventy's these guys were the hottest local band around. I had the album elua for many years.Oh so I checked out there webpage ! I had so many flashback checking it out. Ya know, I could relate. And the guest who took me said he ejnoyed my company. I was so thrilled to have met a nice local guy who likes c and k as much as me and that I got through one night of trust with this person
ON sunday I attended church at Hope Chapel in Kihei. it was a very emotional morning because the children energy is always healing. I was a represnt for my niece as she was christiend. I felt so proud. But thought so much of my son. That evening Tamara my frind mad turkey dinner for us. So yeah i ate turkey already.with mashed potatoe,gravey, pecan pie,cranberry sauce,corn. Oh and i met a friend of hers and his son. We all got along very well. It was very nice to just be. I had a very weekend. The other 2 pictures are of sunday sunrise.

On Friday night i got invited to my girlfriends house . She offered to make me dinner. She lives in Kihei. Kihei is the south side of the island . It is about 35 min for me to drive ther. It was good to see her daughter. She is a swett little girl. So me and my GF watched the movie"what happens in vegas" it was funny! we had wine and laughed. Than she was organizing her clothes and it was like 9:30pm so i headed back up the hill.The pic of me and Tamara is taken bye Ava, and the pic of Ava is taken by me. ENJOy.....its jus my life

Hi , this was on friday. The morning was very rough for me. I was jus sobbing about how the bank wouldn't cash a check for me. I am very desperate cause i have very little funds and i think that this check is the answer. But no luck! I went to cindy's house and she was a great comfort to me. It is hard to cry to a friend, and i was accecpted in my very emotional state and was calmed down. So we went to the ocean. First was Hookipa.! Itwas PACKED! WAVES were so nice. Those are the pics i posted. And than we went to Baldwin Beach and i had to jump in the water by now and i did. It rejuvinated me entirely. I am spoiled to live near the ocean, but yet glad it was there for my healling. The water, salt,wind,sand,sun,splashes! oh i felt so good after!. so there we are me and cindy in the pic!

phone call from son was a blessing! he is doing really good! i miss him and i love him.
job search today sucked! employers do have the upperhand, but they still not hiring. and lotsa people today @ workforce development center! . it is REALLY hard finding a decent job here lately.(updated resume)
vog is bad today with a mix of cane smoke! even i thought it looked like some big city covered in smog..oh it is just maui vog! cough cough

my worst thanksgiving ever!

well, as i began my motherhood with my son's dad, i had my mom make our first thanksgiving dinner. (ya know how the moms cooking is right, hehe i loved that she did it) than when my son was 3 i decided to take on THE MEAL. oh i did what she did, got up early prep, snooze, add this , mash that, and we(me , the dad and my son ) would go for 2 nights on that weekend to the MAUI PRINCE hotel in makena. jus to treat ourselves and invite friends with all our "leftover "meal. well.... on nov of 99 , we had it planned. the room , the food, the other kids to invite(remember i am a mom of one child) than the week of thanksgiving on that monday, robert(the dad) didnt' come home that night. hmmm. i was of course worried. well long story short(but i can tell more details later)he was already renting another house with another family. yes i said it! can u imagine! i was sick for 2 days. than it was time for the cooking to commence and he never came back to our house. (he only visited in public place to see our son whos 9 going on ten at the time). i cried so hard while cooking the meal. it was just me and my son that thursday. we did do our room at the prince and robert only visited and ate with us and took a plate and left. it was a very hard adjustment for me to think i have to go home and be with jus me and my son. soooo. that sunday when i left the prince with so much left overs(homemade cranberry sause, stuffing,mashed potatoes,gravy, turkey, glazed carrots, pumpkin pie , rice, )and all the food i had . i left the hotel with my son and check out as usual. as i was driving home to piihilo(up the mountain) all i could think about who is gonna eat this food! . i gave it to the homeless people that used to hang out at the kanaha park here near the airport. yes, i just had to.in my mind i am thinkling, i got to turn this in to something positive. and this local hawaiian girls accepts but she sees i am in tears and than i break down and tell her my story and she says"well looks like you have your son and his dad will come back", that was the year that robert left our house hold to go live and support another family. . my tradition with jus me and my son has changed since(ya know sometimes you just got to get it catered) and that was my worst thanksgiveing every!. thanks ..jalove(jamie love, maui, hawaii)

i got to see the hardest working DJ on this island today at a promotion at the pukalani superette. DJ SHAGGY was serving out pineapple samples. mmmmmmm it was so sweet. i got there just in time for a free bag which included a pukalani superette hat, a calendar, a key chain and the bag is a reusable grocery bag. i got the last bag. what luck. i really do have a thing for calendars and last year i scored a hawaiian calendar from shaggy, kinda when i first met him. he is a busy guy, but what a treat to see him in person. and i know he was smiling at me. you can tell when you really look at someone in the eyes and he just has these gorgeous blue eyes that have such clarity! he made my day and he made me smile. for me times have been very challenging and for such simple things like a look or smile from someone else , it really does make a person feel good. i will always support and love shaggy!

one love reggae concert

saturday evening was a blast! i was the one to drive the girls to the concert. and i was cool about it all. kathy picked up cindy and they came over to my house. we left makawao for the westside..lahaina bound. one love reggae concert. i finally tried the new primo beer. i liked it. i was telling the girls how my mom used to make the crochet primo beer hats back in the 70's, she used the aluminum cans and yarn, yeah i remember that. also we snuck in our own jaegmiester small bottle. in the concert it was so fun. dani girl was already on stage when we got there. she has a great voice! it was such a surprise when she pulled DJ SHAGGY on stage to sing with her. he did good. i thought so. he is such a cuttie. the audience loved it too. than we wondered to the beer section only to be standing in line and missing rebal soljahz. so we decided to get soda and cookies insead. . and it was so packed!

the lahaina civic center was heating up! i was a brave girl and went up to someone i like and asked for a kiss , but settled for a hug and a quaint ,short conversation. it made me feel like i can do anything and can expect anything! but knew how to react and move on with grace and pride. i hope i didnt scare the living daylights out of this person , but i was jus being me...and so was he!!! see its okay for me. oh i was wishing upon that venus star so hard that night! plus the night before, there was a celestrial event. i always think it IS in the stars. and planets!

ten feet came on stage and me and kathy rushed the front. gosh i knew all the songs. it was like i haven't heard them in a while.! i wish they played longer. i was so sweating! after they attempted to give away surfboards, finally KATCHAFIRE! omg, i remember seeing the video of their song love letter. i danced all their song! i got the endophine rush! yea i couldn't stop moving! it was a high to remember.oh it could have been all the pot i smoked or this mushroom taffy my girlfriend kept handing me! it was so fun! i just was moving! plus i get the energy from the crowd and everyone was poppin! dancing! movin! i was into it.
all of us girls had concluded that it was a very young looking crowd. but it was great eye candy for us! and we got to just be! our drive back to the country was jus fine.
another satisfied concert goer! i hope i don't have to scrape change for a ticket the next time! yeah i was that desperate i broke open the change jar. gee gotta go back to those old" groupie" days?!!!

yesterday i had such a great beach day. i got to baby beach in sprecklesville at around 8 30 am. the sun was great. i was kinda in a off the main reef break. i notice alot of runners and people with their dogs. it did get windy so i left. i went for a cruise to hookpia beach and it was hot.. by now i just wanted the ocean so bad. i drove to baldwin beach park and i usually like to go on the right of the pavillion, and the bay spot was eroded! yeah it was alll washed out! there were trees sticking out of the water. that beach has gone through so much. and i was in awe at the sight. realll beach erosion. so i swam near the life guard stand for nearly and hour!. i was catching waves, swimming out, and do water tumbles. it was great. the ocean really does rejuvinate the spirit. i took a shower and went to my car to change. you know what, how it is here , you just change where evers. and than i notice another girl doing the same thing. i love going to the beach on maui! I got home and napped for about 30 minutes than finally took another shower to wash my hair. boy did i get sunburn.hehe you can tell even if i have dark brown skin! it feels nice!so maybe beach again next week if i still dont have a job !

Today has been okay. I went to a store for an interview for a sales associate position only to find out that the store has been sold to a new person and everything is re shifting. This is fine, although, i was given mis leading information to this store in the first plase. So I will see if it really the job for me. Than i went to a store that will offer a WORK TRADE. This concept is very interesting to me. I really like a lot of stuff in the store. I am going to dive in to it. I see it as an oppertunity at least to be out in the public and getting use to again to a schedule. I do like that i can make my own schedule for this work trade. Than i went to my favorite spot to have my snack. (HOOKIPA BEACH PARK). There were kite surfers, windsurfers and surfers. .

My landlord has dumped VERY HUGE ROCKS in my part of the drive way as they are starting to build a rock wall. They do a lot of their stuff on their own, so i am imagining the pile will be there a while. BUT, as i re evaluated the parking area, i will still be able to park in my space. (4 yrs ago when i had to park at the top of my driveway on the main cul de sac, my vehicle got stolen, so i am very wary about parking at the top of the road).

wind, drizzlies of rain, and just being in makawao is so very soothing. the pic is driving up the highway to UPCOUNTRY!

thank you shaggylive for letting me post this blog. jus wanna say when u did the "forum"show on stickam a while back! it was so needed! these r shows that i go to now because of the forum: video vamp,electro,chris dubya lee mills,the ron show.... and i also found out about : j pitch, & dj andrew through shaggy too. i am still kinda new to all this internet stuff but i like it. it is very fun for me to explore on the internet.

i am happy to have met shaggy , mei, cookie, bk,maui mulisha( maui babe where u at?) in person. i find it so facinating to meet new people. if u get the chance to meet the people from the internet i say take it, cause it might be that one and only time. like cookie wow from australia! it was brief for me but well worth it!

i am in to diversity and change but jus like everyone else , it does take a while to get used to something new! im glad that shaggylive is taking it a step furthur in the format!. that is wonderful!

i would like to say thank you to all of you shaggylive supporters! it would not be done without you! the fans are the important ones right, what would shaggy do without us or more like what we do without him! Bringing us the best entertainment around! and plays the best in reggae music! and has the best way of telling us his life stories! and jus for being the last REAL DJ ALIVE!
